Meet the Instructor: Andrew Wahe - "I Bridge the Skills Gap One Student at a Time."
The Story of Andrew Wahe. Now High School Construction Teacher.
Early on in life, my grandfather introduced me to the craft.
Throughout my career, I've done pretty much everything.
From plumbing, historical restoration and preservation, new home construction, remodel, building inspections, you name it.
I have to say that the best aspect to my story is my resilience and flexibility that has allowed me to survive the recession of 2008.
During this time, I gained employment for a school district in the maintenance department, which then lead me to my current career in teaching and molding future generations. ⠀
If it hadn’t been for this position, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Now I live life passionately with a mission to fill the construction skills gap one student at a time.
What excites you about the future of construction?
What I'm really excited about is the aspect of POSSIBLITIES…
And that the possibilities for new opportunities for the youth in construction, both male and female, are endless.
What's your mantra?
"Use the right tool for the right job."
Whether it is life or construction, look for the better way. A better way to improve and to always seek to evolve as a craftsman and a profession.
Where can people connect with you?
Andrew Wahe // Construction Teacher at RCOE/ RANCHO Verde High School.
