Meet the Superintendent: Cale Lang - "The Next Gen. That's What I'm Excited About."
As my senior year was coming to an end, like others, it's decision time...
Where am I going or what do I want to do?
The Story of Cale Lang. Superintendent at Dean Snyder Construction.
I was leaning towards construction management at a local Iowa college.
A close family friend happened to own a large construction company, along with his two other brothers, sat me down and had a talk with me about a few options.
Long story short, I choose to work for the company. ⠀
And I got to work with his youngest brother on a job along with several other great superintendents in our company.
It was hands on training. The best way to learn in the field.
Eventually, I went on the road to a job out of state and stuck it out for a couple years.
Worked with all trades. Doing all sorts of work and most importantly getting the “in the field training”.
After a few years of being on the road, the job came to an end and home we came.
I got called into the office to be asked if I’d be willing to go back on the road to the same job site and start another job.
I was then moved into a superintendent position and the rest just fell into place for me.
I can honestly say, this was something that came with hard work and the “WILL” of wanting to learn and step up to the plate and take it to the next level.
I've always been a hands on guy.
I enjoyed being around large equipment, moving equipment and setting equipment in various types of plants or factory’s.
Construction is something that will be around forever.
Each day is exciting and different.
So many things happen daily and you rarely do the same exact thing.
Construction workers are the future of building. Whether it's dirt work, framing, steel work etc.
It’s an industry that’s needing more and more of people to fill these trades.
We need the younger generation to step up.
And it's very exciting to me is to watch these younger professionals take on these roles!
With this being said, I encourage each and everyone of you to...
“Be great. And do what you truly Enjoy."
Where can people connect with you?
