Meet the Builder: Chris Quinn - "Excuses are the Nails that Build Houses of Failure."

From an early age of playing with legos, I always knew I wanted to build things when I was older.⁠..

How'd you get into the industry?

After going to college and studying both construction management and engineering I jumped right back into construction upon graduation and haven't looked back since.

I started working with a prominent ultra luxury home builder in the Hamptons where I spent 13 years honing my skills and learning the trade.

After an untimely passing of the founder, I decided to branch out on my own and haven't looked back since.⁠

As a child, I grew up in the industry, my grandfather and uncle were both in the NYC carpenters union and my father was in the finance depart of a construction company.

Naturally I was working on all the houses in the family over the years and my love of building things just exploded.⁠

What's most exciting about the future of construction?

I'm excited about the future of our industry because of the innovation of new products.

Technology has transformed our industry for the better. ⁠

Here we can build homes that last longer.

They are healthier for the environment.⁠

And include creature comforts generations in the past couldn't even dream about. ⁠

The prospect of having my children join me and continue the business keeps me going everyday.⁠

What's a mantra you live by?

"Excuses are the nails that build the house of failure." ⁠

It was a quote that I heard in college and never left my mind.

Everyone has an excuse but I pride myself in rolling up my sleeves and getting the job done. ⁠

Teaching my guys and gals this same mantra has been a sense of pride.

I get to watch these individuals push the limits and boundaries on each and every project we take on. ⁠

And hold everyone we work with responsible for a positive completion of the project.
