Meet the Project Manager: Paul Lundgren - "Never Stop Learning. If You Do, You Must Be Dead."
The Story Behind Paul Lundgren.
I was born into the construction industry.
My father was a painting contractor turned General contractor in Southern California.
I worked with my father ever since I was old enough to sweep the floor.
I eventually went to college for an art degree with an emphasis in graphic design/marketing.
After I got married and found out we were pregnant with our first child and I realized I needed to step up my game.
My father handed the business over and continued to work for me.
At the age of 35 my wife and I moved to Colorado to start over.
I started a home improvement business from scratch.
It didn’t hurt to have a marketing background, I knew that education would come in handy someday.
I built that business for 13 years.
I got to the point where I wanted to specialize and hone my skills as a finish carpenter.
So I partnered with a friend and started a company called Trim Corp.
A year into that venture my family of 11 decided we wanted to make a change.
I was rapidly approaching the age of 50 and knew daily manual labor wasn’t going to be sustainable in the coming decades.
My family and I were drawn to Arizona, so I decided to do an Instagram Meetup there and invite everyone I had connected with.
I wanted to get a feel for the pulse of construction in AZ.
I ended up planting a seed with Brad Leavitt at AFT Construction.
Within four months I closed my Colorado business, finished remodeling my house to put up for sale, moved my family to Arizona and began a job with A Finer Touch Construction as a project manager.
This is the Cliff notes version to my story but nonetheless...
It’s a journey, not a destination.
My career was made possible with the help and power of social media.
"You never know where your next opportunity will present itself! Keep fighting!"
The fact that I’ve been in the industry for the past 30-40 years, I’m excited for how much better we are building houses!
And I believe we are only getting better and smarter!
Here's my mantra:
"You NEVER stop learning, if you do, you must be dead."
What can people connect with you?
